The person needs to confirm that the drawing matches what is actually in the field, that every energy source has been identified, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and stored pressure, and that the isolation points suggested are physically accessible and lockable. Drawings are often out of date, and an AI working from a wrong drawing will produce a confident but wrong answer.
They also need to check that the isolation meets the site’s own standard, such as double block and bleed where it is required. The AI can speed up the planning, but verification in the field by a competent person is still the step that makes the isolation safe.
