In a lot of procedures the fatal risk warnings are grouped in a section at the front, which means the operator reads them once at the start and is twenty steps away from them by the time the actual exposure happens. A warning only helps if it shows up right before the step where the hazard exists.

The fix is to attach each warning to the specific step or steps where the exposure happens, so it appears on screen right when the operator reaches that point in the job. When procedures are digital and broken into individual steps, this is straightforward, and it turns the warning from something read once into something seen at the right moment.
