When a worker gets stuck mid procedure, the usual options are to call someone, search a document library or guess, and none of those are great in the field. An AI assistant that can answer questions using the company’s own procedures, standards and equipment information can give a quick answer at the point of need.
The answer needs to show where it came from, like the specific procedure, standard or manual, so the worker can trust it and check it. It should also be clear when the assistant does not know, since a confident wrong answer in the middle of a job is worse than no answer at all.
